How do you go about ripping individual frames, from say, an AVI or MPEG for weapon resources?

I'm not exactly sure. However, there might be programs that "deconstruct" a movie file into its individual frames for editing purposes. I wouldn't be surprised if such a program exists. Other than that, I have no clue. Sorry. :/

SoftwareClub (warning: site contains lots of Flash and sound effects) has a video decompiler for free download that supports AVI and MPEG formats. Just scroll to the bottom of the list.
